What is electrical power?

To calculate the consumption of an electrical equipment, it is necessary to check the power of this equipment, which, as we have already said, is given in (W). The calculation is very simple, just multiply the power by the operating time in hours per day during the month, then just divide by 1000.
Doing this way, it is easy to find out what the kWh consumption of the equipment is per day. To facilitate the understanding, we made this example of the image above where we show the calculation of consumption of a heater that has 200W of power and stays on for 10 hours a day.
It is important to understand that you should consult the manufacturer’s manual, because each device has its own characteristics, requiring proper sizing. But as for the calculation of consumption, just follow the formula that we showed.

Still on the list of devices, it is worth remembering that these are average values of these devices, that is, the electrical power may vary according to the brand and the functions they perform. And speaking of functions, with technological advances the devices are becoming more and more efficient to perform their functions. On the other hand, there is an increase in the number of functions and this is directly reflected in the increase in the power required to perform such functions.
