# Power table for home appliances!

How to know the electrical power of electrical and electronic equipment? Before I answer that, can you tell me what electrical power is? In this article, we will show you how to calculate the consumption of equipment from electrical power, and how you can identify this power, come on guys.

## What is electrical power?

The definition of electrical power is basically the speed with which the equipment converts electrical energy into work. In case you don’t know, in the international measurement system, the watt (W) is the power unit.

In electrical equipment, the power serves to indicate the amount of electrical energy that is transformed into another type of energy per unit of time. In the case of the microwave, for example, it needs a certain amount of watts (power) to generate the work that is heating.

How is the calculation of electrical power? Understand that the greater the amount of energy transformed, the greater the power of the electrical or electronic device. Therefore, we have much to learn about electrical power, which is one of the electrical quantities.

## How to calculate consumption?

To calculate the consumption of an electrical equipment, it is necessary to check the power of this equipment, which, as we have already said, is given in (W). The calculation is very simple, just multiply the power by the operating time in hours per day during the month, then just divide by 1000.

Learn how to calculate the consumption of an appliance. See how to calculate consumption from electrical power.

Doing this way, it is easy to find out what the kWh consumption of the equipment is per day. To facilitate the understanding, we made this example of the image above where we show the calculation of consumption of a heater that has 200W of power and stays on for 10 hours a day.

It is important to understand that you should consult the manufacturer’s manual, because each device has its own characteristics, requiring proper sizing. But as for the calculation of consumption, just follow the formula that we showed.

## Consumption table of home appliances

Following the article we have prepared a huge list, where you will be able to see the electrical power (W) of various electrical and electronic devices that we use frequently at home, at work or at school, they are:

• Stereo – 200 W

To identify the electrical power of the equipment you should look at the label that shows the technical data and characteristics, as well as the image below. In addition to the electrical power you can see various other information such as the INMETRO seal, the PROCEL seal and etc.

See the example label with technical data for an electric shower.

Still on the list of devices, it is worth remembering that these are average values of these devices, that is, the electrical power may vary according to the brand and the functions they perform. And speaking of functions, with technological advances the devices are becoming more and more efficient to perform their functions. On the other hand, there is an increase in the number of functions and this is directly reflected in the increase in the power required to perform such functions.

In this video below the Mundo da Elétrica channel you can check out a detailed lesson on what electrical power is, the formulas and how to calculate, it is very worth watching!

I hope you enjoyed this article and that you can calculate the consumption of the equipment in your home or workplace. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments and we will be happy to answer them!
